Here we go!

Such a great feeling: sitting at the gate, all ready to go at the beginning of a trip. Anyone who's traveled with me before knows I get a little...over-focused in the hours before I fly. I'm that guy who has to be there 3 hours early international, 2 hours early domestic. If anything happens to slow me down before I get to the airport, I know it's fine and I have plenty of time, but I can't help but get antsy.

But that's not a problem now! Everything came together more or less as planned and on time. We've said our fond farewells and arranged all that needed to be done (including several "just one more thing" REI trips). Priscilla and I are carrying less than 25 pounds each, I'll do a gear breakdown later. For now, it's time to relax on the flights, re-read up on our guidebooks and itineraries.

We arrive in Lima late tonight, and have a day and a half before our bus to Cusco. Then 7 days between Cusco and Machu Picchu, including hiking the Inca Trail!
